MA Creative: Fashion Design

The MA Fashion Design Womenswear programme is designed to meet the needs of the fashion industry for forward-thinking, creative graduates, with unique design identities. Students will explore and refine their individual identity as designers within a framework of classes that provide context, alternative schools of thought, Emphasis is given to industry-linked projects at the beginning of the programme, that equip students with the necessary creative, problem-solving skills, an understanding of the craft and artisanship of fashion, research and market awareness that is required in the dynamic world of fashion. As the course progresses, increasingly more emphasis is placed upon the students’ individual design vision and their research through practice as they extend and refine their personal design identity. Students are expected to work with imagination, creativity and autonomy throughout the course in order to progress and develop their learning outside of class, as well as their understanding of what fashion is and what it can become. The MA Fashion Design Womenswear programme provides students with a deeper understanding of fashion and of their unique, creative contribution to this dynamic industry, and will develop their skills as designers and original thinkers about fashion.
