Harvard Referencing : Referencing Softwares

On this page, we will show you different softwares that can help you reference your work quite easily. Don't hesitate to use them!

Zotero

Zotero is a free and open-source bibliographic citation management software. It is available on Mac, Windows, Linux, and iOS. 
Thanks to this software, you will be able to collect, organize and cite your research sources. 
Integrating the Zotero connector to your web browser (Firefox, Chrome or Safari) will allow you to automatically save references to your library.
When your references are ready, you can then create citations and bibliographies really easily.

Mendeley

Like Zotero, Mendeley is a free reference manager that can help you store, organize, note, share, and cite references and research data.
Using Mendeley allows you to :
  • Automatically generate bibliographies
  • Collaborate easily with other researchers online
  • Easily import papers from other research software
  • Find relevant papers based on what you're reading
  • Access your papers from anywhere online

Referencing with Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word, which you can have by being an IM student, has a referencing feature.
Thanks to this feature, you can insert citations, using the style you want (Harvard in this case) and then, create a reference list using those citations.

You should also know that if you install Zotero or Mendeley on your computer, you will have a plugin directly installed to Microsoft Word.

Online generators

You can use different online generators to create references rapidly and for free.

NB: You can create a free account to save your reference list. 

Change the Referencing style to Harvard Style (there are many Harvard - please chose one and stay consistent along your reference)
