Accessing the library

You need to register before visiting the library. To do so, email library@britishmuseum.org. If you are registering for the first time, please do it two weeks prior to your visit so they can accommodate you. The library is free and for reference only. 

Walk-in users are welcome and can register for the Library at the entrance desk. However, if you would like to consult Library items during your visit, please share your item requests from the catalogue with them 48 hours in advance of your visit to ensure that they are ready for your consultation.
